“Lagom” is a Swedish word that has no specific English translation. In essence, it means “enough” or “just right”. It seems to be all about finding balance. I get the impression that Americans, such as myself, can get a little confused by it – wondering if it veers too close to “average”or “fine.” In some cases it probably does. But I think for the most part, it is about that kind of Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, just perfect experience.
If you want to read further, there is a great definition of it on the header of a tumbler blog here. Or a wiki definition here. Or Lexiophile definition here. That should be “lagom”, eh?
